About a year ago I began scrobbling the music I listen to at last.fm. For me personally, the blending of statistics and music is a big hit, plus it is free. (My only complaint is that on occasion my profile loads s l o w l y). I now have personal charts that show my most listened to artist, top albums, and my most listened to tracks. Not all that important, but I dig stuff like this.
I also get to see what others are listening to and the total plays scrobbled for individual artists by all of the users combined. For example as of this post, The Beatles have a grand total of 49,897,234 plays scrobbled. For comparison, Chris Tomlin has 428,080. It is really an amazing collection of data.
Here is the listening skinny for yours truly. Also, I now have it set up in my sidebar to show recent tracks and my top artist. Which basically will make is easier for you to make fun of me when you see me listening to ABBA.
