It was a late night watching the White Sox defeat the Astros in 14 innings. Simply put, the Astros can't hit. Proof is that there was only one Astro who got a hit in the last 11 innings. Good pitching from the White Sox, but...
Anyway, with the baseball season nearing an end, possibly tonight, I must get something off my chest and prepare all of my readers for next season. It's CRACKER JACK not CRACKER JACKS!
Take Me Out to the Ball Game has been sung at most ballparks since the late 70's. Unfortunately, my experience is that most people incorrectly sing "buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks" instead of the correct "buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack". No "S" people. Next spring listen closely and help me correct this travesty when you hear the incorrect version of the song.
Wow, do I feel better now!
wow...somebody has some issues :)

Well, I think that the song was written incorrectly and it is now time to make it correct. In your thought process then wouldn't it be "peanut". Maybe the intent should be that you would want multiple boxes and then it would be "cracker jack's". I understand the words to the song are singular, maybe you should petition to change it. Anyway, how often are songs sung incorrectly? I think this unfortuantely stems from the lack of production on the Astros part. Don't make the rest of us suffer because of your unhappiness. Have a great day, brother.

Shawn,
The correct singular use of ‘Cracker Jack’ is not determined by the song, but by the authorized name of the product F.W. Rueckheim trademarked in 1896. The lyrics of the song are correct. The formal name of the product is correct. It’s people that are incorrect in their singing of it.
By the way, it’s “I couldn’t care less” not “I could care less.” The latter indicates that there is still margin to have a level of lesser regard for an issue. To convey that you don’t care you would correctly use the former. By this, you are saying that it is an impossibility to care any less than I do now because my caring about this is non-existent.
As to the Astros – no comment. I’m a fan of America’s sport – Football.
